My photography mainly explores the essence of the human spirit in a totally unguarded way. I see the natural environment as my studio and I go for capturing the fleeting moments of the lives of ordinary people and their raw reaction to their surroundings in a wholly unpretentious way. Most often, I find myself being particularly drawn to photographing children and the elderly because of their captivating authenticity in their expressions. I pay close attention to the body language and the facial expressions of my subjects and try to portray a hint of what they are feeling at a particular instance in time. I believe that by connecting to and capturing people’s essence, the photos speak for themselves. The viewer is totally free to use his or her own imagination to interpret my images. This is what we do naturally in life as human beings as well, we interpret everything through our own subjectivity and draw our own unique conclusions about anything we experience or encounter. With my art, I am exploring the depth of my own psyche, like a spiritual journey through the lens together with the Observer and the Observed.
